The Making Of I've Got A Pistol

In November 2007, my son and I decided to take some videos of 2 of his Sock Monkeys, Sock and Old Man Shriner.  The clips were going to be silly and last only a few minutes.  Over the next few years we filmed more than a few clips.  We also added a few more characters and had over 2 hours of footage.  After realizing the amount of footage we had, we decided to put the clips together to make a movie.

We also wanted to make sure that every aspect of the movie was created by us without any outside additions.  So, we purchased music software in order to create our own songs, movie software so that we could edit the clips and make the movie, and supply our own voices for each of the characters.  Outside of some of the sound affects, the entire movie was created by my son and I with the help of the rest of my family.

The movie took almost 7 years to make.  During that time Sock and Old Man Shriner developed their own personalities which added to the movie.  Over the 7 years we learned a lot about making a movie and my son and I had a great deal of time together goofing around and interacting with people who were very curious as to what in the world are these guys doing.

This was a great experience and we loved making the movie.  We have a lot of great memories doing it and we are very excited about sharing the movie with other people.
